About IAM District 4

Workers from IAM Local 4 stand with signs that read "Federal Workers are Heros, thank you for all you do!" on a sidewalk in front of a gas station.
Several workers and labor leaders stand in front of a large inflatable rat at the IKEA distribution center in Perryville, Maryland holding signs that say "IAM Union Local I140 ON STRIKE! Our seniority matters!"
Eight members of the Local 4538 executive board pose with their local charter in a classroom at the W3 Center for Technology and Education.

Our Commitment is to the workers.

IAM District 4 represents thousands of workers at over 100 companies, across 22 states, and in over 65 cities.

Our district is the most diverse in our union, not just because of its borders, but because of its members. From the salty decks of lobster boats, to rumbling and roaring machine shops, and even between the cozy shelves of libraries, we fight for our members no matter where they work. We believe that all workers deserve respect, dignity, and their fair share.

District 4 has a unique history that gives it an even more unique jurisdiction.

The district is divided into two regions, with Region One’s office in Lisbon, ME and Region Two’s in Millersville, MD. We represent workers in communities across Maryland, Maine, Vermont, and Washington D.C., and more.

Our Work

IAM District 4 is dedicated to fighting for the respect, dignity, and quality of life our members deserve. Our team works tirelessly to advocate for workers, their rights, and their communities.
