What's a union co-operative?

People organize co-ops when private businesses fail to provide them quality goods and services at fair prices. Kentucky has numerous rural electric co-ops, for example. But unionized, worker-owned co-operative enterprises have been started in other states. Our friend, Ariana R. Levinson, distinguished teaching professor at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, has been researching union co-ops. We thank her for sharing what she has found with us. “
